Joe "The Rainman" Nichols

A hard rain isn't enough to keep Joe Nichols from performing for his fans, as he proved Wednesday night in Rapid City, S.D. Joe was scheduled to perform at the Central State Fair, but the show was canceled because of a storm.

When Joe saw several hundred fans still waiting around in the rain hoping to see him, he and his band moved the show to the beer tent behind the grandstand, where they set up and performed a full set, giving those who braved the rain a special treat.

"It was a little cozy in there, with me, the band and a few hundred people all hanging out under the tent," Joe said. "But that's what it's all about for me — the music. These people came to hear some good old country music, and by gosh, me and the band were going to deliver."

Joe released his new CD, Real Things, last week and the reviews have been some of the best of his career. The CD's lead single, "Another Side of You," is a Top 25 hit, and climbing.
