Little Big Town's Strait Line

... Stait line... haha, that's a pun.

Little Big Town has had a chance this year to hit the road as an opening act for George Strait, and it's a spot they've particularly enjoyed. After all, they're fans.

"How can you not be?" group member Jimi Westbrook says. "He is the king of country, and it's just amazing. You sit there, and it's unbelievable that you can play a couple of hours a night and every song is a No. 1 hit. That's just crazy."

While it might appear from the seats in the audience that it's one big party backstage, that's not quite the story on the road with George.

"We've hung out with him a little bit," Jimi says, "but he's pretty much in and out when he rolls in. He stays with his wife on the bus a lot, but he's a super-nice guy, really good to us."

Little Big Town opens three shows for George over the next two weeks: Friday in Oakland, Saturday in Anaheim, and April 4 in Baltimore. In the midst of those dates, George's new album, Troubadour, comes out April 1.
