3 a crowd? Nah, not here!

A picture ran recently in The Tennessean that showed Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler sitting side by side at a Nashville Predators hockey game. And it appears that some Nashvillians were stunned to find the three would be so friendly as to have a girls night out.

"People were shocked when they saw three girls who do the same thing as a career and we are friends," Taylor told The Tennessean.

Observers expect female singers to be jealous and petty, but Taylor says she's gotten notes of congratulations from both Faith Hill and Reba McEntire, and that she seeks out advice from Kellie and Carrie frequently.

"Carrie is my role model," Taylor insisted. "That girl has done so much to prove what females in country music can do. Just from knowing her, she'll never say a bad thing about anybody ever, even if somebody has said something bad about her. She'll never say something catty, and it's really cool. It makes me want to be that way, too."

Taylor is hoping to follow in Carrie's footsteps in one very particular way. She's up for Best New Artist at the Grammy awards this Sunday; Carrie won that same trophy just last year
