Sara Evans Charity Auction
Sara Evans celebrated her birthday Feb. 5, but while she was observing a happy milestone, plenty of others in the South were watching personal tragedy unfold as tornadoes and severe weather killed nearly 60 people in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi.
Sara, as a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, was particularly moved by the situation and launched an online auction with money slated for the Red Cross Relief Fund. Sara is taking bids for the top and dress she wore in her "As Is" video. The auction, which runs through Feb. 19, is accessible by logging on to her website, saraevans.com.
"I am so honored to be a part of the National Celebrity Cabinet," Sara said. "The American Red Cross sustains victims during disasters and has supported countless families through the recent tornadoes that devastated Tennessee and surrounding states. We are still seeing the devastation nightly on the news, and I encourage everyone to support their efforts not just now, but all year long."
In addition to launching the auction, Sara taped a series of promotional advertisements encouraging people to donate to the Red Cross. She also recorded a message about steps that can be taken to prepare for disasters.
