Trace Brings John Rich To Apprentice!

Trace Adkins has put himself in a good position on the NBC reality series "The Celebrity Apprentice." In the last two episodes, he provided the slogan for the men's team as it met the marketing challenges posed by Crocs shoes and by Serta mattress.

In tomorrow's episode, Trace enlists another country star — John Rich, of Big & Rich — when his team competes with the women's squad to raise the most money operating a horse-and-carriage business in Central Park. The installment takes a weird twist when producer Donald Trump stirs up the teams a bit, putting British TV journalist Piers Morgan in the same working unit with ultra-competitive female contestant Omarosa.

Trace is participating on behalf of the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). In fact, the opportunity to do something positive for one of his favorite charities was the only thing that kept him from turning down the "Celebrity Apprentice" role.

"I said, 'I'm not a reality fan, I don't watch that stuff. I don't have any reason to do this, I don't need to, my career's going great,'" he told CBS News. "But then when they came back to me again and really stressed what an opportunity it would be to raise awareness for my charity of choice, that's when I decided that this is something I should look into."

"The Celebrity Apprentice" airs at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
