Carrie Makes Simon Proud

(This season of American Idol... he might want to forget)

When Carrie Underwood's album "Some Hearts" was certified for shipments of more than 7 million copies, the project became the most successful CD ever recorded by a former competitor on "American Idol."

That standing is certainly appreciated by "Idol" judges, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, and host Ryan Seacrest.

"I actually saw Randy and Paula [Saturday] night at Clive Davis' party and they're so happy to see anybody [from "Idol"]," Carrie told Dial-Global. "We're their kids, we're their babies. They knew us when we all looked goofy and were starting out, and they've seen us blossom and mature. So, yeah, they're very proud."

Carrie has plenty to be proud of these days. She won a Grammy on Sunday, People.com ranked her among the hottest stars on the red carpet at the event, and she and Keith Urban co-headline a sold-out concert at prestigious Madison Square Garden in New York when their tour resumes tonight.
