Uncle Kracker Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor Charges

**Kenny Chesney thinks to himself... "Hmm, didn't I just spend a month saying he's NOT guilty... oops".

A North Carolina judge sentenced Uncle Kracker to 12 months probation and fined him $1,500, after he pled guilty to misdemeanor assault charges.

Kracker - real name Matthew Shafer - was arrested in August in an Embassy Suites hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina, after a 26-year-old female approached an off-duty police officer in a nightclub and claimed the star "had committed a sexual act against her while she was inside the establishment."

Kracker must also undergo an assessment to determine if he's addicted to alcohol.

The original felony charge of second-degree forcible sex offense was dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.

But Kid Rock's former sidekick told People magazine last month that the charges were ridiculous.

"It's regrettable that someone would make this kind of allegation, not only because it's not the kind of thing I'd do, as the father of three girls, it's the kind of thing that I wouldn't stand for.

"Anyone can say anything about anybody but it doesn't make it true or correct. This is one of those cases. I'm saddened that anyone might think I'm capable of this sort of thing."
