For a retired guy, Garth Brooks is keeping quite busy. He performed nine concerts in November at the Sprint Center in Kansas City and has five more dates slated in just two days in Los Angeles. Now the first of those shows will become a CBS special, Garth Brooks: Live In LA!.
Airing Friday, Jan. 25, the one-hour special at the Staples Center will raise money for F.I.R.E. (Fire Intervention Relief Effort) to aid victims of the wildfires that plagued Southern California last year. During the show, viewers will have the opportunity to donate to the cause by calling 1-800-713-2065 or logging on to mccormicktribune.org/2008firerelief.
The concerts generated a remarkable response. Garth had 85,000 tickets available for the five shows, and they all sold out in just 59 minutes.
