Nashville Star Moves To NBC
Remember Nashville Star? Yeah, nobody does.
The new season of Nashville Star, television's only country music talent search program, will move from the USA Network to NBC-TV.
The new season is expected to premiere in the summer, although no official date has been announced. For the new season, the show will travel the country in search of the best solo acts and groups and give them their shot at becoming the next country music superstars. The first five seasons of Nashville Star helped launch the careers of Miranda Lambert, Chris Young, Buddy Jewell and others. Last year, the series averaged 2.5 million viewers per week, while the season finale was cable's highest ranked telecast for the day. A massive 20-city casting search for this year’s talent will kick off in early February.
