Platinum Teardrops on Her Guitar
Wow. Expensive. Platinum teardrops?
She's barely 18, and Taylor Swift is already in some elite territory. The Recording Industry Association of America certified her "Teardrops On My Guitar" as a digital platinum single, meaning 1 million people downloaded the song.
Only three other artists have achieved that distinction in the digital era: Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and the Dixie Chicks.
At the same time, "Our Song" became her third release certified gold.
Meanwhile, Taylor is also getting noticed alongside young women from other parts of the entertainment world. Us Weekly magazine named her one of the "10 Most Powerful Girls In Hollywood." Other names on the list include R&B singer Rihanna, Oscar-nominated actress Ellen Page and another star who's currently on the country charts: Miley Cyrus.
